There are plenty of ways you can save on your car insurance from Square One. Any discounts or savings for which you’re qualified will automatically be applied to your quote or policy. Below, learn about all the ways you can start saving on your car insurance today.
Anti-theft device
You can get a range of discounts for approved anti-theft devices, such as aftermarket GPS trackers, alarm systems, engine immobilizers, or VIN etching. If you want the best discount, consider purchasing a Tag tracking system.
Driver training
In Ontario, if you have completed a recognized certified driver training course with a government-accredited driving school within the last 3 years, you’re eligible for a credit that will reduce your premium.
Loyalty
In Ontario, a discount applies based on the length of time with your current car insurer.
Multi-line
If you have both car insurance and home insurance (bundling) for your primary residence with Square One, you’ll get up to a 5% discount on your car insurance.
Multi-vehicle
If you insure multiple vehicles owned or leased by the same family at the same address, you’ll save 10% on your premiums for most coverages.
New business
In Quebec, new car insurance policies receive a discount of up to 5% for the first 12 months they’re active.
New driver
New drivers in Ontario receive a 10% discount once they attain their full G license and have no at-fault accidents or chargeable convictions.
Retiree
If you’re 65 or older, retired, and reside in Ontario, you’ll get a 5% discount.
Winter tires
In Ontario, if you keep winter tires on your car from December 1 to March 31, you’ll save 3% on your premiums.
How are discounts and savings applied to my policy?
Your discounts and savings are automatically applied during the quoting process. They are reflected in your premium when you buy and at the time of renewal. Please note that some discounts do not apply to every coverage on the policy. Accordingly, there may be a difference between the percentage noted above and the actual amount discounted from your total premium.
