Mobile App Contest Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”)

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. SEE BELOW FOR FULL CONTEST DETAILS. PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES YOUR FULL AND UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE OF, AND AGREEMENT TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY, THESE CONTEST TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

1. ELIGIBILITY AND PARTICIPATION

1. The Mobile App Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored and managed by Square One Insurance Services Inc. (“Square One”).
2. The Contest is open to (i) individuals residing in Canada only, excluding individuals residing in the province of Quebec, who have reached the age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside; (ii) who have an active Square One online account in good standing; and (iii) who did not pay to use the internet specifically and exclusively for purposes of entering the Contest.
3. The following are not eligible for participation in the Contest: (i) any employees, agents, and representatives of Square One or Square One’s affiliates or subsidiaries; and (ii) any employees, agents, and representatives of any advertising or promotional agency providing services to Square One or its affiliates or subsidiaries with respect to the Contest.
4. By entering the Contest, entrants automatically agree to be bound by these Contest Terms and Conditions, which are subject to change without notice to Contest entrants.

2. SUBMISSIONS OF ENTRIES AND DEADLINES

1. The Contest commences at 12:01 a.m. PT on February 17, 2023 and concludes at 11:59 p.m. PT on May 17, 2023 (the “Contest Period”).
2. Entries for the draw will be collected until 11:59 p.m. PT on May 17, 2023.
3. In order to enter the Contest, an eligible individual (the “Customer”) must download Square One’s mobile app from either the Apple Store or Google Play and log into their Square One policy account from the mobile app.
4. Each Customer gets one entry. Entries may only be submitted as described above.
5. No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest.
6. The use of any automated equipment to participate in the Contest is prohibited.

3. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

1. Winning entries will be chosen by five (5) separate random computer-generated draws. The draws will be held on May 20, 2023 at 1410-650 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, BC V6B 4N8.
2. The selected entrants will be notified by email no later than 5 days after the applicable draw. As a condition of winning, the selected entrants must correctly answer, without assistance and within a set timeframe, a skill-testing mathematical question which will be administered by a Square One representative by phone.
3. In the event: (i) any entry is deemed ineligible or disqualified; (ii) an entrant fails to comply with the Contest Terms and Conditions; (iii) a selected entrant fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question as prescribed; (iv) a selected entrant has not contacted Square One within 48 hours after Square One provides email notification to such entrant of the entrant’s winning entry, or the entrant’s email returns as undeliverable; (v) a selected entrant refuses the prize; or (vi) a selected entrant has already won a prize from the Contest, Square One may disqualify such entrant who will no longer be eligible for the prize, and randomly select further entrants from the remaining eligible entries until a winner is finally declared.
4. Each entrant is eligible to win one prize only.

4. PRIZES

1. There are five (5) entrants to be declared winners, with a total five (5) prizes available to be won. The five (5) winners will each receive one of the five (5) prizes. Each winner may choose between the prize of either an iPhone or a Google smartphone, up to a maximum retail value of $1,250 CAD.
2. Odds of winning the prize will vary depending upon the number of Contest entries.
3. Square One may, in its sole discretion, substitute for any prize its cash value or another prize of approximately the same value. Prizes are non-transferable, must be accepted as awarded and cannot be exchanged by a winner for cash or other substitutes. The refusal by an entrant to accept any prize releases and forever discharges Square One from all obligations to that entrant in connection with the Contest, including delivery of any prize.

5. HOW TO CLAIM PRIZE

1. Within 48 hours from receipt, the entrant must sign and return to Square One a declaration and release form (the “Declaration Form”) which confirms the winner’s compliance with the Contest Rules, acceptance of the prize as awarded, agreement not to defame or publish negative or disparaging comments regarding the Contest, Square One, its affiliates and subsidiaries, or any advertising or promotional agencies providing services with respect to the Contest, and releasing Square One, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and representatives (including advertising and promotional agencies providing services with respect to the Contest), and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, and representatives, successors, and assigns, from all liability relating to the Contest. Failure to return a signed copy of the Declaration Form as prescribed will disqualify the selected entrant and forfeit their right to a prize.
2. The prizes will be delivered to the winners by mail to their address within two (2) weeks following return of a duly completed Declaration Form. If any prize is returned, it will not be awarded again.

6. GENERAL

1. The decisions of Square One in all matters relating to the Contest are final.
2. In the event of a dispute, entries will be deemed to be submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the Square One policy account. All entries are subject to verification at any time and for any reason, including, without limitation, Square One requiring proof of identity and/or eligibility in a form acceptable to Square One for the purposes of verifying identity and/or eligibility to participate in this Contest, and for any other reason Square One may determine, in its sole discretion, as necessary to administer this Contest in accordance with the Contest Terms and Conditions. Failure to provide such proof in a timely manner may result in disqualification of the entrant.
3. Square One, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and representatives (including advertising and promotional agencies), and their directors, officers, employees, agents, and representatives will not be responsible for: (i) entries that are late, lost, stolen, illegible, contain false information, damaged, misdirected, garbled, incomplete, altered, or otherwise do not conform with or satisfy any or all of the Terms and Conditions; (ii) failure for any entry to be received by Square One due to any technical malfunction, traffic congestion, or other problems during the Contest relating to the website or platform, telephone network or lines, or computer, phone, or internet systems; (iii) any condition caused by events beyond its control which interferes with the Contest; or (iv) any injury, loss, damage, or liability of any kind arising out of an entrant’s participation in the Contest, or the acceptance, use or misuse of the prize, including, without limitation, any injury or damage to entrant’s computer or phone or other device relating to or resulting from participation in the Contest.
4. Square One reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, to amend, cancel, close, suspend or reinstate the Contest at any time and for any reason whatsoever.
5. Entries are subject to verification by Square One or its representatives. Entries which are incomplete, fraudulent, submitted late, or that are otherwise not in compliance with the Contest Terms and Conditions, will be automatically rejected and disqualify such entrants to a prize, and may disqualify the entrant from participating in future contests and promotions.
6. By participating, each entrant agrees: (i) to be bound by these Contest Terms and Conditions and by Square One’s decisions; (ii) to permit Square One, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and representatives to use the entrant’s name, photograph, image, video footage, likeness, declarations related to the Contest or prize, city of residence and/or voice for publicity purposes in any media, in any language, anywhere in the world, for an unlimited period of time, without any further compensation; and (iii) to sign and return to Square One a Declaration Form to this effect.
7. If a section of the Contest Terms and Conditions is declared or deemed illegal, unenforceable, or invalid by a competent court, that section will be considered invalid, but the remaining sections will remain in force. In the event of any conflict between the Contest’s short-form terms and conditions and the long-form Terms and Conditions herein, the long-form Terms and Conditions will prevail.
