Software Quality Assurance Team Lead

Your compensation + benefits

• Salary: $74,946 – $85,526.
• 3-weeks, not 2-weeks, of vacation to start and an additional week after only 3 years.

Your responsibilities

The focus of this role is to:

• Lead a team of Quality Assurance Testing (QAT) professionals and interns, providing guidance, support, and ensuring efficient collaboration
• Collaborate with developers and project stakeholders to clarify business requirements and testing expectations.
• Develop test plans, strategies, and test cases based on project requirements and specifications
• Identify and document defects, issues, and deviations from standards.
• Work closely with the Director, Operations to execute and monitor test cases, testing progress, and ensuring that testing activities are on schedule
• Gauge and communicate software maturity and readiness for launch.
• Lead issue identification and triage/prioritization of issues post-launch.

Your qualifications

While we value education, it is most important to us that you have demonstrated experience leading the testing of enterprise-grade, web-based applications and mobile apps.

Must haves

• Demonstrated experience leading a team testing web-based software in a professional environment.
• A minimum of 5 years software quality assurance experience.
• Strong knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of QAT.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of SQL and databases.

Nice to haves

• Degree in Information Technology (or related discipline).
• Experience with GitHub Issues for software feature tracking.
• Experience with automated testing(ie Selenium, Cypress, Insomnia, PHPUnit)
• IT Project management experience.
• Experience clarifying and documenting system requirements.
• Some web application development experience.
• Prior experience within the insurance or financial services sectors.
• Familiarity with the complexity of billing and interactions with payment platforms

• Proactive: “Not my area” isn’t something that’s likely to be said at Square One. If you see something that needs improvement, then you’re expected to champion the cause.
• Enjoy a fast pace: While we are methodical in our approach, we are also relentless in our push to get things done and get code live and in the hands of our users.
