Contest period

The Contest begins on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 12:00 AM PST and ends on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 11:59 PM PST (“Contest Period”).

Eligibility
|
|
No purchase necessary. Purchasing a home insurance policy from Square One does not increase the chances of winning.
Participants who are thirteen (13) and younger on December 31, 2020 are eligible to enter. The Contest is open to residents of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, or Saskatchewan. Before being selected as a Finalist, consent by a legal guardian (“Guardian”) is required. No family member of a Sponsor employee is eligible for entry.
For a submission to be considered eligible, it must:
- be an original creation solely by the Participant. Reproducing, modifying, enhancing or altering a third party’s pre-existing work does not qualify as an original creation;
- not violate the rights of any third party, including, but not limited to copyright. The Submission must not contain trademarks, logos, or trade dress owned by anyone other than the Sponsor, or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind, without express, written, prior permission of the trademark or brand owner;
- be in good taste and must not be explicit, offensive, obscene, or profane, and must not be derogatory toward any ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, profession, or age group, or promote any activities that may be unsafe or dangerous, as determined by the Sponsor;
- contain the Participant’s first name, city of residence, and age; and,
- contain a Guardian’s first name, last name, phone number, email address, and mailing address.

Prizes

The 10 finalists will each receive a $100 cash prize. The top 3 drawings as determined by a public vote will receive (in addition to the $100 cash prize) the following RESP contributions:
- First: $1,500
- Second: $500
- Third: $250
All prize amounts are CAD.

Judging criteria and selection
|
|
Eligible submissions will be reviewed by the Sponsor. The Sponsor will determine the 10 finalists based on the following skill-based criteria: uniqueness, adherence to theme, use of colours, and, written descriptions of special features.
To determine the top 3 drawings, a public vote will begin on July 31, 2020 at 12:00 AM PST on the Sponsor’s website ending on August 14, 2020 at 11:59 PM PST. On August 17, 2020 in Vancouver, Canada, the top three (3) vote receivers will be notified.

General

- Participants are limited to one submission.
- By entering the Contest, each Participant agrees to abide by these Rules.
- The decisions of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of this Contest are final and binding on all Participants without right of appeal.
- The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, withdraw or amend this Contest in any way, without prior notice or obligation, and for any reason.
- Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- The Sponsor reserves the right to deem ineligible and exclude from the Contest any Submission that does not meet the Eligibility requirements.
- Participants acknowledge that their Submissions may appear on web pages for public voting and may appear in other electronic and print materials related to the Contest, including promotional materials. By making a Submission to any Sponsor email address, Participants grant the Sponsor the right to use, publish, adapt, sub-license, edit, dispose of, and/or modify the Submission.
- All Submissions are subject to verification at any time and for any reason. The Sponsor reserves the right to require proof of identity and eligibility for the purposes of verifying the Participants eligibility to participate in the Contest, for the purposes of verifying the eligibility and/or legitimacy of any Submission (or purportedly submitted) for the purposes of the Contest, and/or, for any other reason the Sponsor deems necessary for the purposes of administering the Contest in accordance with these Rules.
- Failure to provide such proof to the satisfaction of the Sponsor in a timely manner may result in disqualification.
- The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of a valid Entry in this Contest will be the Sponsor’s server machine(s).
- Any attempt or suspected attempt to use illicit means to enter the Contest or vote during the Contest, for example, creating multiple accounts, shall be deemed as tampering and may disqualify Participants from entering, participating, winning (defined herein), and preclude you from participating in future contests and promotions, at the sole discretion of the Sponsor.
- Submissions that are late, lost, illegible, contain false information, or are incomplete or otherwise irregular or that do not conform with all of the conditions these Rules will be judged void.
- All Submissions become the property of Sponsor upon receipt and none may be returned. Proof of transmission (screenshots, captures, etc.) does not constitute proof of receipt.
- By entering the Contest, you acknowledge that the entry (including first name, age, and city of the Participant) may be posted on the Sponsor’s website and other media publications, where it may be viewed, shared and commented on by the Sponsor and the general public.
- By entering the Contest, each Participant and their Guardian expressly consents to the Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted with his/her Submission only for the purpose of administering the Contest (and in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use).
